DENIM GUIDE: MUST HAVE DENIM to Add to Your Wardrobe
I am a sucker for a great pair of JEANS. I don’t know about you, but I basically live in jeans. So, I wanted to share a few of my favorites — trust me, you need these babies in your closet! There is nothing better than a GREAT fitting pair of Jeans. There are a lot of really great denim brands out there, some pricey-er than others… I wanted to share some jeans that are great quality and all of these are under $100 🙌🏻🙌🏻.
So lets get right to it…
For ease of reference I am 5’5 and weight 120lbs.
Black Denim
A&F (short for Abercrombie & Fitch) Skinny Ankle Jeans, Black with Buttons. These are ‘high rise’ and fit TTS. I am wearing a size 25. I am normally a size 0 or 2 and find these fit TTS (true to size). The one’s I am wearing here are older, hence not as many buttons, so I’ve linked similar ones with zipper instead of buttons here — note that these are “Ultra High Rise”. Black denim are a must-have, they literally go with everything and can even be dressed up to wear to the office! Plus they are oh-so flattering 👌🏻👌🏻.
Light Wash
A&F Skinny Ankle Jeans, Light Ripped Wash With Chewed Hem. These are my FAVORITE light wash denim. Love the distressing, and find them so flattering. Definitely a must-have light wash denim. I probably grab these the most as everyday wear jeans! I am wearing a size 25 and they fit perfect. They don’t stretch out, loose their shape or get baggy either which is always key!
Medium Wash
A&F Skinny Ankle Jeans, Medium Shredded Wash. The perfect medium was denim with a good amount of distressing. These literally go with EVERYTHING! They look amazing with a crisp white top, dressed up or down. My go-to for medium wash denim. I find the length totally perfect paired with a cute pair of booties! I am wearing a size 25 and find they fit TTS.
MOM Jeans
AE (American eagle) Mom Jeans, Uber Cool. These are seriously one of my favssss. It took me a hot minute to get into the mom jean trend, but I am HOOKED! Haha. These are “vintage” as in they are 100% denim, no stretch. They are super soft but they definitely need to be worn in. When I first put them on I considered returning them for a larger size. But I am here to tell you they do stretch out and form to your shape! I love the knee holes too! They look great dressed up or down, with sneakers & a tee or some heels and a blouse! I am wearing a size 0 and find they fit TTS.
Dark Wash
AE Next Level High Waisted Jegging, Faded Indigo. Ok so first, I’ve been a fan of the AE high waisted jeggings basically since they came out! No joke, it’s been many, many years of loyalty to the AE leggings. They’ve definitely gotten a lot better over the years! Haha. And these ones are SO good. Super stretchy, high rise, and form fitting. I went with my usual size and actually find them to be a bit tighter than usual, so if your between sizes I would size up.
