Top 5 Things to do in Whistler {with kids} in the winter months!

Top 5 things to do in Whistler {with kids} in the winter months… besides skiing!

1. Stroll the village

The village stroll at Whistler is my kind of fun. Grab your starbucks (or blenz!) at the foot of the village and get strolling! You can even bring your fur baby. They have all the shops, Aritzia, Lulelemon, Billabong, Hately, TNA, and the list goes on. There are also a bunch of great little places to grab lunch along the way. Did I mention a little playground for the kidlets to run and play. Yep, that too. The village stroll has everything for the entire family.

2. Go ice skating at Olympic village

When the slopes open and it’s pretty chilly out, they open up a public skating rink right by the big olympic sign. It is so much fun! You can bring your stroller on too. They have an upper and lower skating rink, lower is smaller for the newbie and little skaters. Upper rink is a bit bigger for everyone else. And they have skates to rent too!

3. Relax in the hot tub

Staying at a place with a hot tub is key when in Whistler. It is so nice to unwind at the end of a long day in a hot tub.  So crack a bottle of bubbly and enjoy yourself. We even bring our almost 4 year old in with us during the day while the littlest naps. She has a great time in there with her water wings on!

4. Get cozy by the fire and watch movies

When its cold out and the snow is falling what better thing to do then to light a warm fire, get cozy, and cuddle up watching movies! It’s a must. Grab some hot chocolate and chill.

5. Go for a special dinner at Rim Rock Cafe

Ok. This is a favorite of mine. Rim Rock Cafe: I honestly haven’t eaten a yummier dinner anywhere else in the world. This place has fabulous entrees, great cocktails, and the best ambience. Make sure to book a reso because this place is a gem of a gem and gets super busy! Kids are allowed, and the kid menu is excellent. Although, if you can get a babysitter that would be my preference so you can really enjoy the whole experience.

This one didn’t make my top 5 things to do, because I think it’s a no brainer… Go skiing / snowboarding!

Pretty obvious, when staying at a ski town, go skiing, right? Whistler is one of the worlds best known mountains for skiing and snowboarding and really doesn’t disappoint. I mean, they did host the world olympics! We haven’t been in years since I’ve been pregnant or nursing for the last little while but I hear they have a great camps for kids too. It’s definitely on our list of things to do once the kids are old enough!

Have you been to Whistler? What’s your favorite thing to do there?
